Cool Facts: Goats are curious and playful animals known for their ability to climb and balance on steep, rocky terrain. They have strong, agile bodies and can jump remarkably high. Goats are also known for their rectangular pupils, which give them a wide field of vision to watch for predators.

Where They Live: Goats can live in a variety of environments, including mountains, forests, and farmlands. They are found all over the world and are highly adaptable to different climates and landscapes.

Where They Sleep: Goats sleep in sheltered areas like barns or under trees. In the wild, they find rocky ledges or dense brush to rest in. They prefer to sleep in groups to stay warm and feel secure.

Home Life and Social: Goats are social animals and live in groups called herds. Within the herd, they establish a social hierarchy, often with a dominant male leading the group. Mother goats, called does, are very attentive to their kids (baby goats) and keep them close for protection and care.

Friendships: Goats form strong bonds with each other and enjoy playing together. They communicate through bleats and body language. Goats are also known to form close relationships with other animals on the farm, including sheep, cows, and humans.

What They Do for Fun: Goats love to explore and climb. They enjoy jumping on rocks, logs, and even playground equipment. Their playful nature makes them fun to watch as they run, leap, and interact with each other.

Size of the Animal: Goats vary in size depending on the breed. On average, domestic goats weigh between 45 to 300 pounds and stand about 1.5 to 3 feet tall at the shoulder. Some breeds can be larger or smaller.

Power Level: Goats are strong and agile, with powerful legs that allow them to jump and climb with ease. Their surefootedness makes them excellent at navigating rocky and uneven terrain.

Lifespan: Goats typically live to be around 10 to 15 years old. With proper care and a healthy environment, some goats can live even longer.

First Known: Goats have been domesticated for thousands of years, with evidence of goat herding dating back to around 8000 BC. They have been an important source of milk, meat, and fiber for many cultures throughout history.
